Static Analysis of App Dependencies in Android Bytecode
نویسنده
چکیده
Android applications (apps) are highly interactive, but have— by design—no facilities to declare dependencies reflecting such interactions. Dependencies are hidden in code and uncovering them requires static analysis techniques. This technical note presents our static analysis infrastructure to extract dependency information from Android (Dalvik) bytecode. This infrastructure is used in a study of variability mechanisms in software ecosystems [5]. In the present paper, we provide details on the implementation, our dataset, and the statistics we calculated.

Privacy-Preserving Offloading of Mobile App to the Public Cloud
To support intensive computations on resourcerestricting mobile devices, studies have been made to enable the offloading of a part of a mobile program to the cloud. However, none of the existing approaches considers user privacy when transmitting code and data off the device, resulting in potential privacy breach. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a system that automati...
متن کاملAn Android Application for Estimating Muscle Onset Latency using Surface EMG Signal
Background: Electromyography (EMG) signal processing and Muscle Onset Latency (MOL) are widely used in rehabilitation sciences and nerve conduction studies. The majority of existing software packages provided for estimating MOL via analyzing EMG signal are computerized, desktop based and not portable; therefore, experiments and signal analyzes using them should be completed locally. Moreover, a...
متن کاملDexLego: Reassembleable Bytecode Extraction for Aiding Static Analysis
The scale of Android applications in the market is growing rapidly. To efficiently detect the malicious behavior in these applications, an array of static analysis tools are proposed. However, static analysis tools suffer from code hiding techniques like packing, dynamic loading, self modifying, and reflection. In this paper, we thus present DEXLEGO, a novel system that performs a reassembleabl...
متن کاملFreeMarket: Shopping for free in Android applications
Google recently launched Android Market In-app Billing (IAB), a service that allows developers to sell digital content in their Android applications by delegating the billing responsibilities to Google. This feature has already gained immense popularity with developers—16 of the top 20 grossing apps in the Android Market rely on IAB for generating revenue. However, despite Google’s recommendati...
متن کاملAppSpear: Bytecode Decrypting and DEX Reassembling for Packed Android Malware
As the techniques for Androidmalware detection are progressing, malware also fights back through deploying advanced code encryption with the help of Android packers. An effective Android malware detection therefore must take the unpacking issue into consideration to prove the accuracy. Unfortunately, this issue is not easily addressed. Android packers often adopt multiple complex anti-analysis ...
